Romantic Sydney Accommodation

Romantic Sydney Restaurants

Quay Restaurant $$$$
With its location on top of the Sydney cruise-ship terminal, Quay offers some of the loveliest views in the city. Experience an exquisite meal from one of Australia’s top chefs as  the world’s most impressive harbour city passes by. At night, when the city lights wash over the harbour and bridge and the Opera House's sails are lit up, the view is even more romantic. The Sydney Morning Herald named Quay the 2009 and 2010 Best Restaurant of the Year. Chef Peter Gilmore's menu refers to French, Italian, and Australian cuisine.

The Victoria Room $$
It's a special place. When you get to the top of the stairs and look around at the restaurant, your  jaw will hit the floor. It can be described as a '20's Raj style sultry vintage paradise wonderland'... it is so pretty, very unique and so inviting. The restaurant is full of beautiful vintage chairs, candles, lamps and furniture. Start with a cocktail ask the barman to create one for you based on your favourite drinks It is not cheap, but for a special occasion it is worth it. Sit and chat in the candle-lit room and just enjoy the atmosphere. When you are ready to have dinner you can choose from a variety of tables or booths to sit at.

Hugos  $$$
There are three Hugo's locations in Sydney:  Hugos Manly is an offshoot of the popular Hugo's Lounge and Hugo's Bar Pizza in Kings Cross. It is nestled right on the water at Manly's ferry wharf with a fantastic view of Manly Cove and North Harbour. Award winning pizzas for a simpler romance. Getting there can be achieved with a scenic thirty minute ferry ride from Circular Quay. The Manly restaurant itself is very modern and  open to take advantage of the surrounding views each and water. Inside, you can smell the water, watch the ferries come and go, and on a hot Sydney summer's day observe beach-goers on the small adjacent beach. All the tables are inside, but al fresco dining is unnecessary in such a beautiful open location. The wooden furniture and layout lends a typically relaxed romantic beach feel to the dining room.

Est $$$$
Food is definitely the star in this restaurant. Definitely one of the best food experiences in Sydney. The food is  fantastic and the service is exceptional. There is a great selection of wine, mostly higher-end wines, but more affordable options are also available. Waiter Sam Di Stefano won the 2012 Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide Awards, Silver Service Award and  this contemporary Australian restaurant has been awarded 'Three Hats' every year since 2004.
