Romantic Melbourne
Wonderful shopping and enjoy Melbourne's great alfresco dining.

There’s no secret that Australians love their outdoors and it’s only natural that the most romantic places in Australia are influenced greatly by mother Earth herself. Whether it’s feeling the sand between your toes, running through a field of flowers or cozing up to a fireplace, Australia has plenty to offer to you lovebirds out there.

As always, it’s not easy to pick just a handful of places, and it all depends on the individual lovebird themselves and what they find romantic. However, the following places are sure to impress.

Our first pick is the CasaBelle in Bellingen, New South Wales. This place combines a bit of Tuscany and the Mediterranean and is located up the coast in the northern New South Wales. This ultra romantic hotel sits high on a 13 acre lawn and garden which overlooks sweeping views over mountain and Bellingen Valley. Each guest room features French doors which opens up to private terraces with direct garden access. This hotel is sure to make an impression.

With only 12 rooms, Lord Howe's Arajilla Retreat offers a lucky few guests a haven of tranquillity and relaxation. With restrictions on the number of visitors, the atmosphere here is very relaxed. There are few tourists, almost no vehicles and no mobile access. This wonderfully isolated retreat is located in Lord Howe Island, New South Wales, which is one of the four islands in the world designated a World Heritage Site. Winding pathways lead you through a forest of Kentia Palms and magnificent Banyan trees, to your spacious romantic suites nestled amongst dappled forest light. This place is indeed a haven worthy for the most romantic, and is our second pick of the most romantic places to stay in Australia.

Our next choice is Cape Lodge in Margaret River, Western Australia. This lodge is perfect for wine lovers as it is set in its own secluded vineyard in the heart of the Margaret River Wine Country, and has majestic native forest surroundings and a spectacular ruggedly beautiful coastline. Sitting on 40 acres of parkland, manicured gardens and private lakes, this place makes the perfect venue for beautiful and intimate weddings.

Capella Lodge, not to be confused with Cape Lodge in Margaret River, is another astonishingly beautiful place in the Lord Howe Island. This contemporary-style lodge rests above the island’s tiny, secret beach at Lover’s Bay and at the foot of the superior twin peaks, Mount Gower and Lingbird. Here, you’ll be mesmerized by unrestricted views of the clear blue lagoon.

Whilst all the previously mentioned romantic places were about enjoying the outdoors and nature at its best, Chateau Yering offers a historical and magnificently restored Victorian classic, where you’ll appreciate the indoors more. Chateau Yering’s interior; fabrics, furnishings, furniture and exquisite objet d’art; were handpicked from Europe and the UK. The results are subdued and sumptuous, setting the mood of refinement and indulgence. That been said, set on 250 acres on the Yarra River in Yarra Valley, Victoria, this romantic hotel getaway also offers views that will blow your mind away.

So if you are searching for an Australian romantic getaway at a place that is secluded, charming, peaceful or luxurious, these top romantic places in Australia are definitely worth a look.
